The smart support for flight preparation

The pilotESsentials app bundles a lot of information that supports flight preparation in one place. It accesses certified current data from DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung and DWD Deutscher Wetterdienst.

Even in the free basic version, basic functions for route planning are available. A smart planning environment can be created through in-app purchases.

The application is designed for different end devices. Whether planning is done at home on a Mac or PC or at the airfield on a smartphone - pilotESsentials is available on all devices. The content is of course continuously synchronized when the internet connection is active.

The basic version includes the following features:

• Open Flightmap & Apple Map incl. display of own location
• Route planning incl. saving of one route
• Conversion tool with different values Values
• Display of aviation weather data of the DWD: Area weather forecast GAFOR, airfield weather METAR & airport weather forecast TAF in coded and decoded form

In-app purchases will extend the functionality of pilotESsentials. The following are currently available:

Aeronautical chart based on ICAO chart Germany.

The standard chart for VFR flights from DFS. The map, based on the ICAO chart in scale 1:500 000, covers the whole of Germany as well as the border regions of the neighboring countries. Test free of charge for 7 days!

Aeronautical Information Publication AIP VFR Germany

The complete Aeronautical Information Publication Germany for visual flight. In addition to approach and visual flight charts for aerodromes & heliports (AD), other content such as general information (GEN), en-route information (ENR), approach and visual flight charts for aerodromes & heliports (AD) and time-restricted aeronautical information (AIC and SUP) are also included. Route memory +100

Routes can be planned on maps or via the waypoint database. With the advanced memory function, previously planned routes can be retrieved and edited.

TripKit function

With the TripKit function you have all necessary information from your route planning at a glance: Map extracts from the Open Street/Flight Map or ICAO map (prerequisite: in-app purchase ICAO map), approach charts & aerodrome charts from the Aeronautical Information Publication AIP VFR for departure and destination airport as well as the alternate aerodrome (prerequisite: in-app purchase Aeronautical Information Publication AIP VFR), weather data, flight execution plan. All data are bundled and stored in a PDF document and are thus also available offline. They can also be sent by e-mail or printed out.
